New hyper-personalisation technology powered home screen is a travel industry first

London, UK—October 13, 2022—Egencia, the only proven B2B travel tech platform, today announced a multitude of features that bolster the Egencia mobile app. The enhancements make booking, approving and changing travel plans easier for travel managers and business travellers by personalising their user experience and giving them more control.

Unrivalled Personalised Experience

Users of the Egencia app will benefit from a personalised app home screen powered by server driven user interface (SDUI) technology–making it the first travel app to do so. The app home page dynamically presents pertinent content to the user to speed up access to the actions that matter most to them. For example, features such as trip approval will be visible on the home screen for approvers and upcoming trip actions will automatically be shown to a traveller with an upcoming journey.

The new Egencia in-app trip guide helps travellers instantly connect to information relevant to them, including travel times, destination updates and requirements. Key accommodation details are also available such as hotel hygiene protocols, social distancing rules and opening hours for the restaurant and pool.

To make it even easier for travellers to receive vital updates about their trip, such as flight delays or schedule changes and check-in reminders, Egencia has introduced push notifications in the app. Approvers can also manage trip approval requests much more quickly by receiving requests directly to their mobile device. Inbound requests may be approved instantly with an additional ‘long press’ option.

Take Control of Your Trip

In response to increasing demand from its customers to self-serve changes to a business trip schedule, Egencia has made it possible to change flight and hotel bookings from within the app. If a booking is amendable, travellers and arrangers can now perform full change requests without ever having to leave the app. Egencia has also added contactless e-Tickets for rail journeys within the app for business travellers travelling by train in the UK. After checkout, travellers can easily access their eTickets by following the new link on their trips page.
